In order to cast a birthchart I need to know
the date,
time and
place of
birth.
If the birth time is unknown,
I would cast a solar chart, based on the
birth date alone. I would also want to know
something about the individual's family
background and personal situation. This
information is crucial for me to be able to
focus on what is being symbolized by the
chart and connect it to the planetary
influences at work in the life of the
person.
The astrologer is
not a fortune-teller, but rather
a consultant who uses the analysis of
planetary influences in order to guide the
client into making the best choices for
his/her wellbeing. Since much can be
predicted and permission has been granted,
the astrologer cannot determine what will
happen without leaving the client the right
to make his/her own choices.
To illustrate my point: imagine you are in a
maze with doors and corridors that open and
close every few minutes. The walls keep
moving, creating new spaces and different
corridors, and the doors open and close for
varying lengths of time. Let's say you've
decided to take a certain route and in order
to reach your destination you have to go
straight and then take the second turn to
the left. You'll then come to a door, on the
other side of which is your intended
destination.
But wait - just as you're about to turn left
a new wall suddenly appears and blocks your
way so you can't make the turn. Now imagine
you've got the map of the maze which tells
you what kind of obstacles will come up and
when they'll occur! That would certainly
affect your choice of route, and even help
shorten it, saving you much frustration as a
result.
An astrological map works in much the same
way, and is therefore an excellent tool to
help us make the right choices. Furthermore,
the map also reveals clues as to our destiny
and our inherent potential - just like a DNA
sample. That is to say, by analyzing a
birthchart we can also discover how able we
are to get through the 'maze', what unique
advantages each of us has that others may
not, and how we can use them to achieve our
goals. What's more, if we combine the natal
birth chart with progressions and planetary
transits we get a comprehensive picture of
all the planetary influences affecting us,
past present and future.
The astrological consultation is absolutely
confidential between myself and my client.
The meeting is taped, and the client
receives a copy of the tape on CD. During
the meeting specific questions may arise for
which I might cast a horary chart, thus
allowing me to obtain further details that
can't be seen on the natal chart.
